BMW E39 models can have different factory radio wiring layouts, so it is important to confirm your setup before ordering.

• Large black plug behind the factory head unit: You can order this head unit as-is. No additional wiring is required, and the kit includes what you need for installation.
• Blue and white 12-pin plugs, factory DSP, or factory navigation system: You will need the optional 6 metre extension cable. These vehicles use a trunk-mounted radio setup, so the extension cable must be run to the rear of the car during installation.

If your original system has DSP shown on the factory head unit, or your vehicle has the original navigation setup, you should select the 6 metre extension cable option.
